The image of the invocation

The drumming of the Taiko was seen in Japan as the summoning of the Gods for the unity of man, Gods and the universe. The drum itself was regarded as the seat (throne) of the Gods, which were awoken and summoned through the drumming.

Furthermore the drums were used by the peasents and fishers during their work and by he Samurai before starting an attack.
